The Aubrie Shugart School of Dancing was established here in Victoria by Lillian Cain Cox in 1939. After Miss Cain’s retirement the school was bought in 1970 by a former student, Carole Jordan. In June of 1977, Jan Moore Hamilton became the third owner of the school and remained open for the next thirty seven years. Upon Jan’s retirement, Aubrie Shugart is now the proud fourth owner of this historical establishment.

Our goal is to provide students with foundational techniques that will promote rhythm, coordination and grace in all genres of dance. We would be pleased to have your child as a student of the Aubrie Shugart School of Dancing. It is our ambition to provide proper dance education for your child so please allow us “time to teach”. It takes time to build a strong body and help each individual become the best dancer they can be.

Aubrie Shugart is a Victoria native and began her dance training at age three with Jan Moore Hamilton. Aubrie earned a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2012. Aubrie is certified by examination to teach and is a member of the organization Texas Association Teachers of Dancing. In 2006, she began assistant teaching for Jan Moore Hamilton and became Assistant Director of the school in 2012.  Aubrie’s love of the art of dance is forever growing and wishes to instill the same passion onto her students. Aubrie married Cody Shugart June 18, 2011.
